We arrived at the station in Syracuse at around 2:30 in the afternoon, to catch the 3:15 bus out to the big city. (The gift shop sold false eyelashes, I thought that was awesome).
The bus ride was pretty fun, my iPod really helped pass the time. There were a decent amount of breaks, as to give my terribly long legs a bit of a stretch. The weather was so nice! It made looking out the window a lot more enjoyable. I was excited when we finally approached the Lincoln tunnel. I couldn't believe how long it was, it made me feel a bit claustrophobic knowing that there was a body of water above us. It was breathtaking when we finally reached Manhattan, all the buildings and lights were fantastic! It was exciting to finally get off the bus and finally breathe in the New York air!
The cab ride to our hotel was nuts! I kept in the back of my mind that cab drivers use these streets every night, so I breathed and enjoyed how exhilarating the ride was. After about six minutes we were in Times Square! Right in front of our hotel. I just realized that I never took a photo, but I do have a photo of the room and the view from our thirty sixth floor room!
After checking in and putting our bags in the room we went out for a bite to eat and a cocktail. We went to Rosie's for dinner, where I had the best chicken parm I've ever had. I also enjoyed a couple Manhattans in Manhattan. They were delicious and after one I was buzzed... Anyone who knows me knows that that drink must have been rather strong to get me buzzed from one, haha. The restaurant was so nice, our waitress was originally from Scotland!
After dinner we went back to our room, then left to walk the city streets! We went to M&M store, and saw a ton of fun shops! We decided to go for another drink so we went to the Tavern for a shot and a cocktail. The place was packed! It was a sports bar so they had the SU game on. We lost. Once we finished our drink we decided to go out and walk a bit more before turning in for the evening.
I will post my day in New York in a day or two!
So when are you taking me to NYC Johnny?
